Dr. Crane is a Professor Emeritus of Finance at California State University, Fullerton, where for over 40 years he was responsible for instruction in financial planning, portfolio management, retirement and estate planning, and investments. He was the founding Program Director for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) registered curriculum at the University.
He graduated from the University of Southern California with a doctorate in business administration with an emphasis in finance. He had previously earned an MBA and BA from USC and California State University, Fullerton, respectively.
Dr. Crane is past Chair and current member of the CSUF Foundation Investment Committee, as well as a founding member of the Center for Insurance Studies advisory board. He was actively involved with the University’s Continuing Learning Experience (CLE) Program for seniors, he is past Chair of the President’s Task Force on Affordable Housing, and he supported many student organizations on campus.
As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Dr. Crane has been a member of the Standards Writing Committee and the Examination Writing Committee for the CFP Board of Standards.
Dr. Crane has authored numerous articles on finance and financial planning and is a nationally recognized authority and speaker in the area of personal financial management. He has been a consultant for numerous organizations, medical groups, the Small Business Administration and the Mortgage Bankers Association. He holds CA insurance license #0720844.
As the founder and a broker at Crane Real Estate for more than 30 years, Dr. Crane also brings extensive real estate knowledge and experience to his clients.
